Joey,

I did the following this morning:

As many  rounds as possible in 20 mins of the following:

10 Pull Ups

10 Thrusters (65#)

Did 12 rounds.

Last time I did 7 rounds so that's some improvement.  Seriously tough workout.  I am just weak enough that having a coach may have gotten me another round (maybe).

I also ripped a callous off my right hand  below the pinky.  the wound is about the size of a dime and two layers deep.  Tried a product called Skin Shield.  About the same as new Skin but smells like model cement instead of cloves.  Stings about the same.  You missed another good chance to inflict pain on me.

I wanted to drop a few lines about my CrossFitting while under your supervision:

Before Joey and After 1 year  training with Joey

Max Dead Lift                  Before 185#            After341#

Max Clean                       Before  95#             After 130#

Max Squat                       Before  165#            After 285#

Max Press                       Before  125#            After 145#

CrossFit Total                  Before  455#            After 735#

Fran                                 Before  Unable        After 5:46

Cindy                               Before 15 Rounds    After 22 Rounds

Pull Ups on the minute    Before 12                  After 17

STS PT EVAL                 Before  13 pull ups, 65 push ups, 100 sit ups, 19:20 run, 23:45 swim

STS PT EVAL                 After     16 pull ups, 82 push ups, 100 sit ups, 19:50 run, 22:40 swim

Everyone of my scores for the CrossFit named workouts improved, but these are the ones I have on record.

I'm sure your new Trainees will benefit as greatly as I have, if not more.  Your unique eye for spotting form and form deviation coupled with your inimitable ability to communicate cues to Trainees assures great results.  Your ability to get into peoples' heads and motivate them is unsurpassed. Your new Trainees have no idea how fortunate they are to have you as a Trainer.

Thanks for all the help, Brother.Being at Freedom Crossfit has been truly awesome. Joey is definitely a Unique one in his "bluntness" on his opinions on Crossfit and how it should be done. I freaking love the guy. He is funny, tons of knowledge on the subjects, a good leader, and most of all makes you feel welcome to his new home. There is no question where his heart is when this task that he has been given.

I see nothing but success for him.

Thanks for letting us "Cross the Wire" for a week with you Joey. You are a good friend.

Deadlifts from yesterday:

5 X 455
5 X 455
5 X 435
5 X 405
5 X 405

Thank you CCT Joey and Apolloswabbie - the form corrections you guys made for me this weekend helped my numbers big time! I can't wait to max out. If anyone has an opportunity to get coached by these guys - take it. They know what they're talking about. It was a pleasure working with them and if you are in Louisville make sure you stop by the Chaos Compound (www.thechaoscompound.com) and get some coaching from Joey.

“Just wanted to let you all know what a great time I had at The Chaos Compound. CCT Joey was a gracious host. I also had the opportunity to meet Paul Eich aka ApolloSwabbie. You'll not find two people as smart and as dedicated as these guys. Wow. I learned as much if not more than I did at certification. Joey's workouts were definitely tougher - from the 2 rounds of tabata tire flips at midnight to the 8 rounds of Prowler pushing hell - beat whatever we did at certification hands down. If you're ever in Louisville, I encourage you to stop by the Compound and get some first class training by CCT Joey. One of the best weekends I've had in a long time.”

Joey;

Very well stated.

If I lived closer, I'd train with you guys every day.

I leave tonight for Texas to see my brother graduate from AF BMT. I'm so proud of him and I can't believe he's already done with basic! I'm sure he's going to be stoked about actually getting to do CrossFit wod's again but I know he was able to convert a couple other potential recruits to the darkside and get them to do some wod's after lights out.

CCT Joey- If your out there I want to thank you for the inspiration you gave him several months ago. He has a Combat Controller contract and I can't tell you how awesome it was for you to contact him. I appreciate it and hope all is well.

M/44/6'1"/170

Here's a shout-out to CCT Joey @ Crossfit Chaos in Louisville. I want to post on here in case the folks at CF HQ read this. This man is one phenomenal coach and a great guy!

He spent a lot of time with me the past couple days coaching me on O-lifts, and coaching me through yesterday's WOD. At 44, it may be a little late for me to be learning all this stuff, but learning it I AM! Today's WOD was the perfect way to put the past 2 days of coaching into practice.

My time = 42:20, all sets w/ 135# DLs and 115# on everything else.

OK -- nothing to "hooah" about, but I'm really happy to have done the 5 rounds and end up feeling "good" sore, not injured sore.

Thanks everybody! Go getcha some.

Big thanks to CCTJoey for the advice on recovering from a dislocated shoulder. I'm back to doing full workouts and BJJ training with little pain.

Thanks for the help bro.

Could not stop laughing....I sound like Siskel and Ebert...2 thumbs up for the CCTJoey Interview!!!

To me, this is CrossFit. The very human element from just some random guy named CCTJoey. But he's not a random guy...he's got strong convictions, he's hilarious, and in my opinion, dead on with his analysis of the "make-up of the people" who do CrossFit.

Tony B, whether you know it or not, you're capturing very powerful, moving testimonials in this revolution and doing a superb job with it.

I'm gonna make a "CCTJoey for President" t-shirt, and only a select few Americans (just the CrossFittter) across America will get it when they see me wearing it. This is the best community ever to belong to.
